Celebrating with a local teen in foster care!

We got this celebration message from a local foster Mom who stepped out in faith to foster a teenager in her 20s. As it turns out, even if she’s never parented, she’s just the right parent for the job!

“She got her driving permit! What a great way to wrap up an unbelievably hard year for her. This school year, she was enrolled at 3 high schools in 2 school districts, lived in countless places (motels, group home, campers, apartments, couches, etc), did home bound for a semester,  walked to a restaurant to do her school work to have WIFI, was taken into foster care, then life got completely flipped on its head, communication cut off with many people, and finished number 2 in her class. How amazing!
We are listening everyday to the Bible recap podcast together and praying for her mother.”

When I told her you’d asked to share about how well she’s doing, she wanted to add—
”Fostering can be really scary and change your whole life but it can also be really good…like we like to watch shows together and read and I love hanging out with my foster mom’s little sister and being part of the family.”

For her birthday this year, she wanted to visit Charleston, SC, for the first time! Fostering Faithfully was happy to send her birthday scholarship to help with some of the expense of her trip! Our donors help partner with foster parents to make memories like this happen!
