Meals Extravaganza for foster families during COVID-19 pandemic

There are inevitable ups and downs during a fostering journey, but March 2020 brought normal lives and ministries like ours to a screeching halt. Many of our foster parents suddenly found themselves working full time, homeschooling many children, home for many more hours and meals, and navigating new ways to visit biological families from home. Mrs. Kim, our treasurer would not be deterred from serving them even when we were cancelling date nights, support groups, and training events.

So, we partnered with a trusted local caterer to make two incredible full meals for families we serve from a menu of choices we emailed them. Kim even coordinated a special desert from volunteers to add to the meals. We started with our fostering healthcare professionals, and in 3 waves of deliveries ensured every foster family we serve in Oconee and Pickens counties received some nourishing encouragement during some very stressful times. Foster parenting is already not your average parenting gig, and these parents saying yes to teach and care for kids from hard places during intense times in America deserve some dinners for sure!
